sewing the helena wrap dress by just patterns

“Helena is a breezy wrap dress with a hint of tailoring. It features a deep V-neck and wide belt ties that wrap around the waist and cinch the silhouette for an effortlessly elegant effect.”

a couple weeks ago, i went thrifting with my bestie katie. As usual, we were looking through all of the textiles in the store, which includes sheets, curtains, bolts of fabric and more. She pulled this lovely brightly striped bedsheet from the rack and i had to grab it!

When Just Patterns sent this pattern over, i knew this fabric was the perfect choice. I knew i would have the yardage needed, and the fabric was giving me a vintage 50’s/60’s vibe, especially with the silhouette of this dress.

Just Patterns graciously sent me the Helena Wrap Dress pattern prior to release to share on release day!

Just Patterns is so thoughtful and detailed with her patterns. I always learn a new technique when i sew her patterns and it pushes me to be better at the skill of sewing.

“Shaping is achieved with pleats in the front and back bodice and soft gathers in the skirt. The neckband is grown on the front bodice. The dolman sleeves are finished by wide sleeve bands to balance the silhouette” - Just Patterns
